Dr Who - David Tennant Sketch

 Ripley - Alien

This one took all day and a lot of pencils. I had a picture about 3.5" wide to work from. My eyes felt like they were bleeding at the end of it. IT was worth it as I've got this one hanging in my lounge and its a good little talking piece. Anyone interested in Alien Sketch Cards? Does anyone remember Outland? I love that style, it would be nice to see more films in that Foss style. Let me know: Jedi_Netrix@jedi-council.com

Star Trek - The ...?

Concept for a new vessel - another one to join the millions of others. Ah what the heck. I must have created about 500 sketches for this. I couldn't get it out of my head. This is jsut one of the hundreds of ideas I've had for a new ship. I've got an idea for a new Star Trek that's very different to the ones I've seen so far, but let's be honest no one is going to say hey wow we just loved your sketches and story line - let's do the show. Can you imagine someone at Paramount saying that? There's more chance of making a hit Star Trek show! Doh.

The compact version - note the little runaround piggy backing. Great for the weekend.

I have to see this would not be my serious contender for a new ship, I think that Star Trek needs  more than a new ship. That's the least of its problems. Still you Star Wars fans probably don't give a fart about the Trek so I'll shut up.

This is a pencil sketch that said to me 'stop' once I did the face. It's funny how something can look finished even when you think you've just started.

Respect to the Great Boris Vallejo

Now I'm not getting delusions of grandeur - this guy is in his own league. I love his work. It's sensual, some consider dated - but you study it you realise how talented the man is. Please visit his website: http://www.imaginistix.com.

Here are a few of my studies of his artwork.

This is a rather old Magic Marker sketch I did at art college. It's still one of my favourites, The shadows contrasting with the columns came out well. I worked from Boris' pen and ink sketch and final painting. Boy they look good. This took em an evening though. I'm sure that his must have taken ages. I wish I had the time.

This is a pencil sketch that is my attempt to copy the original pencil sketch. The woman holds a snake and their a Hughes chopper in the distance. I just concentrated on the face.

More to come...
